No Knocking In The Library
Tallassee, Alabama

[scene opens with librarian Sharon Johnson speaking directly to the camera]
SHARON: My ghost story began when strange things started happening at the Tallassee Library.
[cut to exterior shots of the Tallassee Community Library, then back to Sharon]
SHARON: I've been a librarian for about sixteen years. I've been over at the Tallassee Library for about twelve.
[cut to more exterior shots of the library with ominous music playing, then back to Sharon]
SHARON: To look at it, you wouldn't think that there's anything's going on in there. Just a normal building. But when I walk into the library, I have a feeling that there's other people there.
[cut to a shadowy figure of a woman, then back to Sharon]
SHARON: My library customers have said that they will hear pages turning ...
[cut to a book being opened, then back to Sharon]
SHARON: They'll be in the middle of the bookcases, and they'll hear somebody come up behind them. And they'll move and start to turn, and say "Do I need to get outta your way?" There's not anybody there.
[cut to shots of Sharon pushing a bookcart through a darkened hallway, then back to Sharon]
SHARON: They'll hear breathing. If I'm trying to shelve books, and I'm trying to put the book on the shelf, he'll push back, and I can't get the book on the shelf.
[cut to more shots of the inside of the library, then back to Sharon]
SHARON: Sometimes we'll come into the library in the mornings, and a whole section of the shelf of the books will be turned outside so the pages are facing outwards. I know nobody else has been in there since I've closed up, so it couldn't be me or my assistant, and there's no customers in there.
[cut to shots of the bookshelves all out of order, then back to Sharon]
SHARON: We had so much activity that we decided we needed to have professionals come out and really get some evidence that we had spirits there.
[cut to professional ghost hunter David Higdon speaking directly to the camera]
DAVID: I got an email from Miss Johnson. She was claiming ghost kids, music playing, talking, even a shadow going around the library.

[...]

[David discusses his experience spending the night in the childrens' area of the library]
DAVID: I was sitting there, with the lights out, asking questions. "Can you talk to me?" "Can you move objects?" "Can you bang on the wall?" "Can you do anything?" And it did ...
[cut to footage of David inside the library ("2011/03/26 22:25") when two loud knocks can be heard, then back to David]
DAVID: Two knocks came from nowhere. I was the only one in the room, and it was "Bang bang!" It was two loud knocks.
[cut to another shot of the footage, as the two knocks are clearly heard, followed by David slowly backing away from the source of the noise]

[...]

DAVID: After hearing the two knocks, I was trying to get more response. I was trying to get more EVPs, or more movement. Then we heard a loud crash.
[cut to more footage of David inside the library with his crew ("2011/03/26 22:28"), as a "crash" is simulated by shaking the camera, then to Sharon speaking directly to the camera]
SHARON: The grating we have over the fireplace came crashing down.
[cut to same footage of David and his crewmember backing away from the source of the noise, then back to David]
DAVID: It was loud enough that it got me scared, and I was already scared from the first two knocks.
[cut to the footage of the two knocks, then back to Sharon]
SHARON: My thoughts were, if somebody that deals with this everday and all the time was scared, there was something to be scared of.
[cut to David speaking directly to the camera]
DAVID: I had to get out of that room!
[cut to a closeup of three rocking horses in the childrens' area of the library, then back to David]
DAVID: Later on during the night, Sharon told me that the rocking horse moved on their own, so we just went and investigated them.
[cut to motion sensors surrounding the horses, then back to David]
DAVID: We set up a motion sensor throughout the legs of the three rocking horses, so if any of the rocking horses moved, it would trip the alarm.
[cut to David and one of his crewmembers sitting at a table reading childrens' books by flashlight]
DAVID: And throughout the night, we were sitting there reading kids' books ... trying to get some kind of reaction, and in the middle of all that, is when the motion sensor went off.
[cut to night-vision footage of the horses ("2011/03/26 22:25"), then back to David]
DAVID: When I seen the rocking horse move, I had to take a step back. I was stunned. Didn't know why it moved, but it moved. There ain't no doubt in my mind that it was a kid's spirit playing with us at night.
[cut to the footage of the rocking horses with ghostly children's laughter playing over it, then back to David]
DAVID: Sharon told me about a ghost reader spirit in the library, that loves to move books and flip pages over.
[cut to the same footage of a book being opened, then to Sharon speaking directly to the camera]
SHARON: When you open the basement door to go down into the book cellar, sometimes you can hear a full-on conversation, like a group of people, and we have heard growling. There's just a general heavy, very unpleasant uncomfortable feeling down there.
[cut to David and his team inspecting the basement, then to David speaking directly to the camera]
DAVID: I sent the team downstairs to investigate the basement. We tried to get some kind of reaction from the spirits, and tried to see if we could capture it on tape.
[cut to an exterior shot of the library]
FEMALE GHOST HUNTER: [in voice over] We actually have an EVP.
[cut to the recording made in the basement, where the female ghost hunter can be heard saying "Can you tell us your name if you are here?" followed by a voice (?) thought to have said "You may address me as Sargent Fuller"]
[cut back to David speaking directly to the camera]
DAVID: It was a pronounced name of Sargent Fuller.
[cut to a repeat of the recording, then back to David]
DAVID: Sargent Fuller, we believe, is a Civil War soldier that once died at that location, when it was a Civil War hospital. He is a spirit that mainly stays in the basement.
[cut to Sharon speaking directly to the camera]
SHARON: There's a Civil War soldier that haunts our library. You don't get used to it. It still scares me.
[cut to David speaking directly to the camera]
DAVID: After this case, it just made me take a second look, and say "Hey, uh, something's really going on."
[cut to footage of the two knocks being heard, then to Sharon speaking directly to the camera]
SHARON: I believe that Sargent Fuller is haunting the library because that's where he died.
[cut to footage of the rocking horses, then to David speaking directly to the camera]
DAVID: I heard this library used to be a clubhouse for kids, and I still believe those kids are still there today.
[cut to footage of the rocking horse with the ghostly laughter, then to Sharon speaking directly to the camera]
SHARON: Having so much activity at the library, all this documentation, all the things that have been happening, it just confirmed what I already knew, that there is such things as ghosts and spirits and they're living at my library.
[the camera zooms out to take a shot of Sharon from above, with the text "Sharon claims activity at the library continues, including hearing strange voices in the stacks."]
