[scene opens in Hakujo Academy, as Yuto watches several classmates fawn over Haruka]
NOBUNAGA: [from off camera] Yuto!
[he looks up to see his friend Nobunaga staring him right in the face, and almost falls out of his chair]
YUTO: Ah! Nobunaga!
NOBUNAGA: What are you looking at?
YUTO: It-It's nothing.
NOBUNAGA: Really?
[he smiles]
NOBUNAGA: Ah, besides that ... Did you watch it? Yesterday's "Clumsy Aki-chan?"
YUTO: Oh, yeah ... I watched it. Because of that, I'm sleep-deprived.
NOBUNAGA: It was awesome, wasn't it?! Especially the heroine, Aki-chan! Just can't get enough of her, can you?
[cut to a wide angle shot of Nobunaga talking excitedly, as two female students watch]
NOBUNAGA: The voice actress is Matsuki Miu-san! And for character designs, it's Heru Boomeran-san!
GIRL 1: Asakura-kun sure loves his Akiba-kei ...
GIRL 2: If he kept his mouth shut, he would actually be attractive. But that hobby is just ...
[cut to Nobunaga placing several figurines of Aki-chan on Yuto's desk]
NOBUNAGA: And then, and then, this is the secret!
[Yuto sighs]
NOBUNAGA: What the hell? Even when someone is speaking positively, you give off bad vibes.
YUTO: Coming to someone else's classroom, and continually speaking one-sidedly about your hobbies to someone makes people feel a lot worse.
NOBUNAGA: Eh, is that so? Yuto, you like these kinds of discussions, don't you?
YUTO: I always tell you, I don't like or dislike ...
NOBUNAGA: That's too bad, because I think you might have a hidden genius inside you.
YUTO: What kind of genius would that be?
NOBUNAGA: Ah, that's right! Yuto, I'll show you something really good ...
[he reaches behind his back and pulls out a copy of the manga "Innocent Smile"]
NOBUNAGA: Tada! "Innocent Smile!"
[cut to a closeup of someone's earlobe (twitching slightly at the sound of the title), then back to Nobunaga]
YUTO: "Innocent Smile?"
NOBUNAGA: Yeah, this is Clumsy Aki-chan's serialized anime magazine. I wanted to check the back number, and I saw that this finally arrived at the library.
YUTO: Th-They put this in the school library?!
NOBUNAGA: Yes, since it's pretty rare, and if you bought all of them it would cost quite a bit of money.
YUTO: But even so, would you really put this in the school library ... an anime magazine?
NOBUNAGA: It's pretty famous for these types of topics. In this edition, there's a premium first issue ...
[a loud banging can be heard off camera, as they turn to see it was Haruka pushing her chair back to stand up suddenly (which causes her to get an embarrassed look on her face when she notices everyone in the class staring at her)]
NOBUNAGA: Huh? Wh-What happened?
YUTO: I ... I don't know.
[she quickly bows to all the students gathered around her]
HARUKA: I-I'm sorry! I startled you. Don't worry, it's nothing!
[she sits back down, as the other students go back to their business (except for Yuto who continues staring at her)]
HARUKA: [from off camera] Sorry for the inconvenience!
[cut to Yuto at his locker, as a female voice starts talking over the intercom]
VOICE ON INTERCOM: Second year, class two. Asakura Nobunaga-kun. "Innocent Smile" Volume Six's checkout period has expired. It is urgent that you come to the library.
YUTO: [to himself] What is he doing, that Nobunaga?
[he closes his locker, then Nobunaga appears around the corner]
NOBUNAGA: Hey, Yuto!
YUTO: You were called over the announcement, to return the book you're borrowing.
NOBUNAGA: Yeah, because of that I have a favor to ask of you, Yuto!
[he takes the manga out of his backpack]
NOBUNAGA: Can you return this, for my sake?
YUTO: Huh? Why me?
NOBUNAGA: I have to go and make a one-face outing plan ...
[he thrusts the manga into Yuto's chest and runs off]
NOBUNAGA: I'm leaving it to you!
YUTO: Ah, hey! Nobunaga!
[he turns and yells after his friend, but he's already gone]
YUTO: What is ... "one-face?"
[cut to inside the school library, where the elderly male librarian sits at the front desk next to a large sign ("This Week's Late People! Second Year, Class 2. Asakura Nobunaga. Innocent Smile #12")]
YUTO: Here you go ...
LIBRARIAN: Yes, indeed. The return policy, from now on ...
[he suddenly gets a wild look in his eyes and starts screaming]
LIBRARIAN: Honor it!
[Yuto jumps back and starts bowing apologetically]
YUTO: Ah! Ye-Yes, sorry about that!
[he turns and leaves, as the librarian walks away to file the book back where it belongs]
YUTO: [to himself] Why do I have to get yelled at?
[a female student (covering her face with her book bag) walks past him, so he stops and turns]
YUTO: [to himself] Who is that?
[she turns to walk down the aisle, but bumps her bag into the bookcase (briefly revealing her face before rushing off)]
YUTO: Nogizaka-san?
[cut to Haruka running her finger over the issues of "Innocent Smile" on the shelf, as she stops at Number Sixty Three and smiles to herself]
[cut to Haruka at the front desk, still hiding her face as she nervously hands the manga to the librarian (who once again appears calm)]
HARUKA: Uh ... Ummm, this one please.
LIBRARIAN: Yes, indeed. And as for the return policy ...
[he once again gets a crazy look on his face and starts yelling]
LIBRARIAN: Don't forget!
[she jumps back]
HARUKA: Oh! Okay!
[she tries to quickly run out of the library, but runs right into Yuto ... as the two stare at each other before he finally holds up a hand and wave to her]
YUTO: Hey.
HARUKA: W-W-Why are you here?!
YUTO: Huh?
HARUKA: How long have you been here?
YUTO: Um, from just a little while ago--
HARUKA: Did you see it, what I checked out?
YUTO: N-No ... Not to that extent.
[she suddenly calms down (feeling confident that her secret is still safe)]
HARUKA: Is that so ... Ah, it's really nothing that important. Please don't mind me, then.
[she smiles and slowly starts to inch her way around Yuto to the door]
HARUKA: Umm, your name was Ayase-san, right?
[she keeps smiling and walks backwards towards the exit]
HARUKA: Well then, I'll be going now ...
YUTO: Watch out!
[he holds up his hand, then cut to a large crash as the manga and Haruka's bag go flying in the air while one of the bookcases falls to the floor]
HARUKA: Uhh ...
YUTO: Are you alright?
[he runs up to Haruka lying on the floor, as she slowly sits up]
HARUKA: Whu ... ?
[she suddenly looks at her hands, then looks around the room nervously]
HARUKA: Did you see it?!
[he quickly covers his eyes and turns away]
YUTO: I did ... No! I didn't look!
[she looks down (noticing that her skirt is open), then quickly covers up]
[cut to Yuto uncovering his eyes, as he notices the manga under her bag and bends down to pick it up]
HARUKA: Don't!
[she runs over to grab it herself, but slips on a piece of paper on the floor and crashes into Yuto ... causing both of them to fall backwards into another bookcase (which takes down several more dominoes-style)]
YUTO: Ouch, ouch, ouch ...
[cut to Yuto sitting on the floor (as Haruka lies face-down in his lap), when he picks up the manga and stares at the cover]
YUTO: This is ...
[cut to a close up of the cover, as Yuto moves the manga aside to reveal Haruka staring up at him (reaching for the manga with tears in her eyes)]
HARUKA: You saw ... I've been seen! It's over ... It's all over ...
[she starts to cry, then gets up and runs out of the library (right past a group of students who have gathered by the door due to the commotion)]
[cut back to Yuto, on his knees holding the manga in one hand while reaching out for Haruka with his other hand]
YUTO: Nogizaka-san ...

Original air date: July 10, 2008
Watching an anime Clumsy Girl Aki-chan, Yuto Ayase is a second-year student at Private High School Hakujo Academy. Later, he goes to return a magazine at the library that his bishonen friend Nobunaga Asakura requested. There, he accidentally runs into the most popular girl in school, Haruka Nogizaka, and discovers her secret: that she is a major otaku who is a fan of anime and manga, which greatly distresses her. Haruka starts avoiding Yuto at all costs which causes others around them to blame Yuto for doing something bad to her. Eventually, Yuto finds Haruka on the school roof where he explains that he will not tell anyone about her secret hobbies if she does not want anyone else to know, cause she afraid it would ruin her reputation. This makes Haruka very relieved and happy that if anyone had to find it that it would be Yuto.

From wikia.com:

Because of his friend Asakura Nobunaga's nagging, Ayase Yuuto proceeds on watching a magical girl anime called "Dojikko Aki-chan (Clumsy Aki-chan)" that night despite admitting that it does not interest him. Downstairs, his sister Ruko and homeroom teacher Kamishiro Yukari are indulging themselves to alcohol even though it's 3 in the morning. As he remarks on how a person has the ability to watch anime on such hours of the day, a girl is seen with a smile on her face as Aki-chan's face flashes on the TV screen.

The following morning, Yuuto is preparing breakfast, while Ruko and Yukari are left sleeping from their drinking party. The two manage to wake up in time for breakfast, but they both participated in tormenting Yuuto in their own way.

Later on, in Hakujou Academy, Yuuto encounters classmates Nagai, Takenami and Ogawa, who remark on his opinion on women. This was suddenly interrupted by the sound of someone playing the piano; more specifically, it was fellow classmate Nogizaka Haruka behind the piano, admired by many of the students for her expertise.

Yuuto soon reached his classroom and there, he had a chance of seeing Haruka mingling with her friends, when Nobunaga interrupted him, the topic shifting to yesterday's episode of Dojikko Aki-chan and his anime-related interests. The topic about an anime magazine called Innocent Smile inside the school library seemed to arouse Haruka's interest, which ends up startling her friends.

At the end of the day's class, Yuuto is asked by Nobunaga to return the book he borrowed from the library (which is the Dojikko Aki-chan issue of Innocent Smile). He receives a warning from the librarian in the place of the borrower and heads off immediately. On his way out, he notices a girl sneaking inside with her face covered by her school bag. He instantly recognizes it as Nogizaka Haruka, who borrows a copy of Innocent Smile. As she leaves though, she bumps Yuuto, whom she then asks about what she just did. She also tried sneaking out from him, but she ends up losing balance. Yuuto manages to get hold of the book she borrowed, much to the remorse of Haruka. She leaves the library in tears.

The following days, Haruka seems to avoid Yuuto. He notices this and begins to wonder himself why.

He tries to talk to her personally, but her tendency to run away from him only worsens his image, especially to those who admire Haruka. He manages to reach Haruka on the rooftop, There, he admits that he will not expose her hobby to anyone and reassures her feelings about having such a hobby.

That night, he receives a call from Haruka, who admits she forgot to return the Innocent Smile magazine she borrowed. She remembers that people with overdue books have their names announced all over the school and her image will be tarnished when it happens. Yuuto and Haruka meet at the school, sneaking in so that they can return the book before it is overdue.

Inside, Haruka exposes her tendency to be airheaded and clumsy, much to Yuuto's relief, as he describes Haruka as a "weird ojou-sama".

They managed to complete the requirements in returning the magazine safely when the sound of a cat's purring echoed throughout the library. Haruka suspected it as a ghost cat that has been haunting the school as a ghost story; Yuuto decides to investigate however. Luckily for them, it was their teacher Yukari's phone, whose ringtone is a cat purring.

Outside the school, Haruka extends her thanks for Yuuto's help and allows him to call her by her first name. Yuuto also returns the favor by allowing her to call him in his.
