[scene opens with sped-up footage from the previous episode, where a male college student speaks to a female college student from the other side of a bookshelf in the school library]
HENRY: [in voice over] Okay, where was I? I met a mystery girl, and what happened next ...
[cut to the male student and his stepsister walking into the library]
MADISON: Henry, we were just here!
HENRY: Don't worry, we're not here to study. We're here to--
MADISON: I know, I know! We're to find the new love of your life ...
HENRY: No, not the love of my life ...
[she sighs]
HENRY: Just a girl that I have met and ... would like to meet again.
MADISON: And you seriously think she's gonna be as boring as us, and spend two nights in the library?
[cut to a closeup of Madison]
MADISON: Why do you like this girl so much?
[cut to a closeup of Henry]
HENRY: Uno, she was wearing a Blondie band t-shirt!
[cut back to footage from the previous night, as the mystery girl's t-shirt can be seen through the open space in the bookshelf]
HENRY: [in voice over] The greatest eighties band!
[cut back to the two in the library]
HENRY: Two, she laughed at--
[cut back to footage from the previous night, as the girl is looking through the open space in the bookshelf and laughing]
HENRY: [in voice over] All of my jokes!
MADISON: [in voice over] Oh god ...
[cut back to the two in the library]
MADISON: You did not tell her the one about the fork, the poodle, and the whipped cream, did you?
[he laughs]
HENRY: Uh huh, and it takes a special kinda girl to laugh at that one!
[cut to a closeup of Henry]
HENRY: Come on, just help me! It'll be like all those crime scene dramas that you love so much!
[cut back to a shot of the two]
MADISON: Except there is no crime ... except for stalking. But, as long as I'm here--
[cut to a closeup of Madison]
MADISON: Let's go check this girl out.
[she puts on a pair of sunglasses, then cut back to a shot of the two (as Henry is not impressed)]
HENRY: Let's just try to find the shelf I was at last night ...
[he walks off, and she shrugs]
MADISON: Eh.
[she takes off the glasses and follows him, then cut to sepia-toned footage (including "silent film" style piano music) of the two walking around the stacks (he's feverishly looking at the books, while she makes a half-hearted attempt before checking her phone ... so he grabs her by the arm and drags her with him)]
[cut to the two walking towards another bookshelf (as the footage returns to normal), and Henry grabs one of the books]
HENRY: This is it!
MADISON: Yay, you found books ... Congrats! Can we go now?
[he shakes his head and keeps looking around, so she starts pouting]
MADISON: Please, what kinda clues do you think you're gonna find here?
[he stops, unsure of what his next move should be, then cut back to footage from the previous night]
HENRY: [in voice over] It was then I realized she had a book in her hand ...
[cut back to the two in the library]
HENRY: We just need to find out who checked it out!
MADISON: Well, here's hoping they'll give you the information ...
[cut to a young African-American female librarian (dark hair pulled back in a ponytail, hoop earrings, flower blouse) standing at the front desk with an emotionless look on her face]
BILLIE: No.
[cut to the two standing in front of the librarian, as Henry shakes his head in dejection]
MADISON: Well, there goes hope ...
