Mary Pat Gleason plays the Middleman's cantankerous robot assistant, Ida. She's a "soulless android from outer space masquerading as a cranky librarian." Not much is known about Ida, apart from this: She's a link between past Middlemen, as well as a link between the current Middleman and 02STK, the secret organization that gives him his marching orders. Ida's abilities seem limitless, and she has yet to find an electronic device she can't interface with. It is said that she once had the ability to change her appearance and personality, but due to a yet-to-be-determinded accident, her circuitry became stuck in "domineering schoolmarm" mode.

Ida is the Middleman's android assistant. She is provided by the O2STK ("The Organization too Secret to Know") and takes on the appearance of a middle-aged librarian; she is tasked with assisting the current Middleman with "defending the world against threats infra-, extra-, and juxtaterrestrial".
Ida runs on a very powerful battery which allows her to serve generations of Middlemen. She is the only one who knows the histories and identities of all the Middlemen. Capable of plugging into the HEYDAR (the "High Energy Yield Data Accumulation Resource" which serves as a global analysis and information gathering device capable of performing onboard evidence analysis as well as universal intelligence searches across all data platforms), Ida can complete all of the aspects of running Middleman HQ and the Jolly Fats Wehawkin Temp Agency.
When Ida blue screen crashes, the reactivation requires a reaction which may have an adverse effects on a nearby pregnant woman, and/or her unborn child (the exact effects are unknown).
