Librarian Barbarians

Featuring

Jess the wonderful librarian
Meagan a straight A student and frequent library visitor
Jon a misbehaving barbaric student
Matt another misbehaving barbaric student

Attention Alexandria Middle School students!
The Librarian Barbarians have landed on this digital monitor you are watching this on to demonstrate proper library etiquette. Any rebellious actions of the two male students shall not be replicated.
As young padawans, the library is your platform to success and is your greatest available resource for further knowledge.

[scene opens inside of the Alexandria Middle School Library, as the young female librarian is shelving books]
NARRATOR: That's Jess the librarian. If you ever need help, she's the person to go to. Make sure you obey all her rules.
[cut to Jess sitting at a desk, as she turns to the camera and smiles]
NARRATOR: But she's the nicest lady in the world!
[cut to Matt sitting at a desk, loudly chewing his gum]
NARRATOR: For example, chewing gum in the library is prohibited.
[he takes the gum out of his mouth and sticks it under the desk]
NARRATOR: And even if you are chewing gum, don't even think about sticking it under the table ... That's so disgusting!
[the scene freezes and a red circle-backslash symbol appears while a loud siren sound effect goes off, then cut to Meagan carrying a stack of books through the library]
NARRATOR: Another example ... please put all books back in the proper order.
[she begins placing the books on top of other books on the shelf]
NARRATOR: How dare she put them back like that?
[cut to a still image of the books placed right-side up, as a green checkmark appears while an "applause" sound effect goes off]
[cut to Matt sitting at a desk writing in his notebook, when he rips the page out and throws it over his shoulder onto the floor]
NARRATOR: And the library is not a playground ... don't just throw paper all over the place like this student.
[he crumples up another page, then gets up and tries to "slam dunk" it into the nearby wastebasket (except the crumpled ball of paper bounces off the lip and falls to the floor)]
NARRATOR: Oh yeah, and it's not a slam dunk contest, either!
[cut to a still image of Jess placing trash into the wastebasket, as a green checkmark appears]
NARRATOR: Please, please, throw them away properly.
[cut to Matt and Jon talking loudly in the library, as Meagan (sitting behind them) turns and gives them a dirty look]
NARRATOR: Don't you hate it when people around you at the library are not concentrating and studying on their work, and are just socializing?
[Jess walks up and puts a finger to her lips, shushing them]
NARRATOR: Yeah, I do too ... So, as the librarian says, respect the quiet zone.
[cut to a still image of Jess pointing to a "Quiet Zone" sign while giving the camera a thumbs up]
[cut to Jon chasing Matt through the library]
NARRATOR: Lastly, the library's definitely not a place to be running in. If you do run, you might end up like Jon ... This happened to him the other day.
[cut to Jon running through the stacks, when Matt sticks his foot in from off camera and trips him]
[cut to a still image of Jon clutching his knee in pain]
NARRATOR: Well, that's all the Librarian Barbarians have for you today. I hope you apply these rules to your daily library etiquette!
["A Strategic Presentation, Presentation :)" appears on screen, as a group of schoolchildren can be heard singing "I love books, and they love me, I get them free at the library! Read them once, read them twice, library books are oh so nice!"]

Creative Direction
Matthew Yu
November 2, 2011

Creative direction huh? Well, us, The Librarian Barbarians certainly won't disappoint on this final project. While we know that probably more than half the class is targeting the same question, we're going to make sure our creativity is on another level. We've got a nice storyboard down in how to execute and film a video that is humorous, but also, educational to middle school students on library etiquette.

Overall, even though our video might be demonstrating the same rules and behaviors compared to other groups, we plan on putting our own spin on it. We want to be original, something the audience hasn't really seen yet. As a group, we communicate very well together and we all see each other on the same page when it comes to bringing up ideas. I think this direction we are taking is essential, unique and will hopefully make our video stand out amongst the others.

Within our storyboard, we'll pan out each act we'll be filming. Obviously, we've decided to film this in a library setting, so we've also planned what angles to shoot at so it makes the video a lot more aesthetic. We'll illustrate our creativity within our storyboard using some wicked arts/animations/graphics.

The "Nerdy Librarian" Bad Date

SYNOPOSIS:
What a great girl. She's shy, she's quiet and she's never been on a date. I would greatly welcome this, but while I read a book a week, it's not the epicenter of my life. I think I'd see her again, maybe get her drunk just to see what happens.

[scene opens with a man and a woman sitting at a table in a restaurant]
DAVID: So, uh, what's your name?
JENNY: Uh, Jenny.
DAVID: Jenny?
JENNY: Jenny.
DAVID: Cool. Where you from?
JENNY: Uh, Chicago.
DAVID: Oh, cool. How long you been out here?
JENNY: Um, like three months.
DAVID: So what'd you come out here for?
JENNY: I, I just wanted to work out here.
DAVID: You go out on a lotta dates?
JENNY: [pause] Not yet.
DAVID: Oh, cool ... Gotcha.
JENNY: Yeah.
DAVID: So, uh, do you ... I dunno, do you go out at all ever? Do you hit bars?
JENNY: I go to libraries.
DAVID: Libraries ...
JENNY: Um ...
DAVID: So, like, a lotta like book clubs?
[she shakes her head]
JENNY: No.
DAVID: No.
JENNY: I, uh, read ... by myself.
DAVID: Gotcha, so you like to read by yourself.
JENNY: Yeah.
DAVID: Um ...
JENNY: Do you, do you read?
DAVID: So I basically decided to read one book a week. I've been reading, uh--
JENNY: Just one?
DAVID: Just one. I mean, what I'm reading right now is like eight hundred pages.
[she nods]
JENNY: That's not that long.
DAVID: Well, no, but I just figured I'd start it off ... like, uh, I got Chelsea Handler's book, and I just thought--
JENNY: Oh.
DAVID: She's trying to write something--
JENNY: I'm not, I'm not familiar.
DAVID: Um, she's a TV host ... Do you watch TV at all?
JENNY: I don't.
DAVID: Oh, okay.
JENNY: I don't own a TV.
DAVID: Well, I figured ... I mean, she writes books, so I figured maybe--
JENNY: Oh, sure.
DAVID: Yeah.
JENNY: I'll look her up.
DAVID: So how long, um, how long was your last date?
JENNY: [pause] This is ...
[she looks down and laughs nervously]
DAVID: Is this your first date?
JENNY: This is my first date.
DAVID: First date ever?
JENNY: Yep.
DAVID: Wow. Uh ...
[he stares at her blankly]
DAIVD: So like Friday, Saturday night ... you're home--
JENNY: At home.
DAVID: Reading a book?
JENNY: Reading, yeah. Yeah.
DAVID: Gotcha. Okay, well ... See, I don't even have a library card.
JENNY: Oh.
DAVID: Like, I haven't had one since I was, like, twelve.
JENNY: I could hook you up. I mean, I--
DAVID: Well, yeah ... Well, here's the deal. I'm gonna go get my driver's license so we can fill out that library card form--
JENNY: Yeah.
DAVID: And I'll be right back.
JENNY: Sure, great. Yeah.
[he gets up and leaves, as the camera lingers on the woman (with an awkward smile on her face) before fading to black]

[scene opens with several of the female inmates standing in a circle in the prison library, when an overweight African-American woman steps forward and begins rapping]
TAYSTEE: They call my Taystee, 'cause my pussy be delicious! Like an apple, it's nutritious! Like a Clinton, it's ambitious! You wanna mess with all that? Bitch please, you's a gnat! You go splat! Best be runnin' staaaat!
[everyone cheers]

From wikipedia.org:

Orange Is the New Black is an American comedy-drama series created by Jenji Kohan that first released on Netflix on July 11, 2013. The series, produced by Lionsgate Television, is based on Orange Is the New Black by Piper Kerman, a memoir about her experiences in prison.

The show revolves around Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), a woman from Connecticut living in New York City, who is sentenced to 15 months in a women's federal prison in Litchfield, NY, for transporting a suitcase full of drug money for Alex Vause (Prepon), an international drug smuggler and Chapman's former lover. The offense occurred ten years prior to the start of the series, and in that time Chapman had moved on to a quiet law-abiding life among New York's upper middle class.

From imdb.com:

Season 1, Episode 6
WAC Pack (11 Jul. 2013)

The inmates must campaign amongst their races for a coveted spot as a prisoners' representative. In the election, no one is allowed to vote for anyone outside of their own ethnic group. Piper is understandably confused by the whole thing, but Nicky tells her to "pretend it's the 1950s."

Morello says that the Hispanics have too many kids, have stinky food and are taking all of the jobs. Taystee and Poussey launch into a savaging of white conversation, and the Hispanics disparage the African-Americans for being dirty and lazy. During the campaign, Pennsatucky advocates for a "whites-only bathroom," and the mood of the inmate community is fractious as Taystee and one of Pennsatucky's followers engage in a "rap" battle.

From wikia.com:

Tasha "Taystee" Jefferson
Portrayed by: Danielle Brooks
Status: Alive/Incarcerated
Occupation: Library

An inmate and the black representative on the WAC. She works in the prison library and sports a weave made of blond hair taken from Chapman. With coaching from Washington and a makeover from Burset, Jefferson is paroled from the prison. However as she has been in institutions her whole life and finds it hard to adapt to the rough life she finds outside the prison walls, she re-offends and is subsequently sent back to prison and is assigned to the recently vacated bunk of Ms. Claudette as Piper's roommate. Due to the time spent in the library, she is rather well-read and considers herself to have a large knowledge base when it comes to law.

---

From nytimes.com:

Growing up in South Carolina, the daughter of a minister and a deacon, Danielle Brooks never planned on a stint in federal prison. In middle school, she visited a juvenile justice complex. "They gave us a tour of the jail," Ms. Brooks recalled. "The handcuffs, the walking in a straight line, the smell. I was like: This is totally not a place for me."

But fresh from Juilliard, she landed the role of the brash, swaggering Tasha Jefferson, known as Taystee, on the new Netflix series "Orange Is the New Black," based on Piper Kerman's memoir about her stint in the pen for money laundering and drug trafficking. While other inmates struggle with life in prison, Taystee struts down the hallways, sings in the shower, and dominates the prison library, where she offers an astute critique of Joyce's rambling "Ulysses": "Ain't nobody got time for that."

Taystee even seems to embrace the beige prison-issue jumpsuit.

[the player enters the Rem Elementary School library, where a group of fellow students are gathered around one of the bookcases]
LENA: That's strange ... I could've sworn it was on that bookshelf.
[the player walks up to the young female librarian (red hair, pink shirt, white skirt) standing next to the front desk]
SISTER: Akira! I haven't seen you in a while!
[the player walks up to an open book sitting on a table]
NARRATOR: Akira finds a book of magic and opens it.
AKIRA: [reading] "Know ye that with these words, the wounds of thy demons may be healed."
["??? ??? ???" appears on screen]
NARRATOR: Akira can't make out the rest of the page.
[the player walks up to the other students]
AMY: Do you guys really want to summon a demon?
LENA: Akira!
JIN: Akira! The Demon Book ... It's gone! Let's find it!!
[the player walks back to the librarian]
SISTER: Akira, what are you looking for?
AKIRA: The Demon Book that Lena found here is gone.
SISTER: Oh, that book. It was so unusual that I held on to it. You can take it if you want to read it ... Well?
[the player selects "Take it"]
SISTER: Well, here you go.
NARRATOR: Akira got the Demon Book.
[the player returns to the other students]
LENA: Where'd it go?
AKIRA: Jin, I found it!
JIN: That's the Demon Book! Good job, Akira!
[he starts reading from the book]
JIN: "Nex, a wolf-like demon who guards the gates of hell" ... Wow!
LENA: Jin is in a world of his own ... He gets that way when it comes to demons.
JIN: Whoa! What's this ... You're kidding me?
[cut to a closeup of the students]
JIN: Akira, check this out! This shows you how to summon a demon!
AKIRA: You're right! Jin ... Wanna give it a try?
LENA: This is so cool! Exciting, too!
AMY: Are you thinking about summoning demons? You need special powers for that. If you have those powers, that would mean ...
AKIRA: Powers? What are you talking about, Amy? What kind of powers do you need to summon demons?
AMY: There's danger in summoning demons ... A summoned demon might attack you.
AKIRA: A demon attack? If that happens, we'll just have to fight.
[cut back to a full shot of the library]
AKIRA: Jin, we're ready. Let's try the spell!
[cut back to a closeup of the students]
NARRATOR: The two boys chant the words to summon a demon ... Keyaga ka likahi ref achimi miya! We summon you to appear before us! Now!
[cut back to a full shot of the library, as the screen flashes red]
LENA: What the ... Something just flashed!
AMY: Be careful, everyone! Something's coming!
[a purple ball of energy appears in front of them, then cut to a closeup of a blue dragon-like creature appearing]
GARGOYLE: Gargoyle is my name. Who dares to summon me from my home? Could it be you, you pitiful ... humans! I come all this way from Valhalla to find myself summoned by kids!?
[cut back to a closeup of the students]
JIN: Wow! A real demon!
LENA: No kidding! This is unbelievable ...
AKIRA: Watch out! Jin, I think Amy might've been right!
[cut back to a full shot of the library (as the librarian runs out of the room), then back to a closeup of the students]
AMY: Gargoyle from Valhalla!? That's a demon of the Imperium! Why is it here!?
[cut back to a closeup of the demon]
GARGOYLE: Well, if it isn't Amy! Fleeing Valhalla and hiding here! I wondered where you'd disappeared to ... but here you are!!! You saved me a lot of trouble by summoning me. And now, you're mine!
[cut back to a closeup of the students]
AKIRA: Lena, make sure you're ready to run ... Lena! What're you doing!?
[cut back to a full shot of the library (as Lena walks up in front of the demon), then back to a closeup of the students]
LENA: Listen up, big 'n ugly! You've got yourself a serious attitude problem! If you think you can simply drop in and attack us, think again!
[cut back to a closeup of the demon]
GARGOYLE: You annoying brat! If you're seeking to anger me ... you've succeeded! Come here, you're mine!
[cut back to a full shot of the library, as the screen flahes red and Lena begins hovering around]
LENA: Hey! What's your problem!? Let me go! I said, let me go!
[cut back to a closeup of the demon]
GARGOYLE: Amy! If you want this brat to live ... You'll return with me to Valhalla!
[cut back to a closeup of the students]
AMY: Lena!
AKIRA: Jin ... We've got to help Lena!
JIN: Darn! What are we supposed to do!?
AMY: Akira! Jin! Take these! Use them against the demon! Hurry!
["Akira is handed a Demiloc" appears on screen]
["Akira is handed a Vinecom" appears on screen]
AMY: Akira! Use the Demiloc! Save Lena!
[the player selects "Use Demiloc"]
NARRATOR: Akira fires the Demiloc at the demon ... unleashing a blinding light!
[a pentagram appears on screen, then a small blue creature emerges]
GALE: Are you the one who summoned me? A DemiKid, eh? Part demon and part human ... I'm Gale. I'm your ally and Guide. Well, Gargoyle, now you've got a DemiKid and me to face! Can you handle us both!?
[cut back to a closeup of the demon]
GARGOYLE: What? A DemiKid!? Just my luck ... But then again, I've always liked a challenge!
[the demon attacks, and the player is able to defeat him]
GARGOYLE: DemiKids! You're too late ... This world has no future. With an active time rift, your world is doomed!
[the demon disappears]
AMY: Akira and Jin, your DemiKid powers ... have awakened.
LENA: Amy, I have a feeling you know something ...
AMY: Akira and Jin both have Demi-Powers. When they summoned that Gargoyle thing ... I gave them my Demiloc. Using the Demiloc, they summoned their allies, triggering their latent DemiKid powers.
LENA: You knew this was going to happen!? You knew this and gave them a ... a Demiloc!?
AKIRA: Chill out, Lena. It was the only way to take that demon out. Using the Demiloc was our choice, anyway.
JIN: Yeah, Lena ... If I had to do it again, I would.
AMY: The Gargoyle mentioned something ... a rift ... A time rift!! If that's a fact ... Oh my ... No!!
[she runs out of the room]
LENA: Where's she going? Didn't that thing say something about there being no future? We better follow her!
[she runs out of the room]
JIN: Let's go, Akira! Something's wrong ... We may be needed!
[he runs out of the room]
GALE: Akira, your awakened powers'll lure demons like fish bait. Stay alert, or demons will eat you alive!

From wikipedia.org:

"Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Children Book of Light/Book of Dark" is a role-playing video game from the Megami Tensei series for the Gameboy Advance. The US versions are titled DemiKids: Light Version/Dark Version. Similar to its predecessor the two versions each feature a different main character, Jin for the Book of Light and Akira for the Book of Dark. Both main characters are Devil Children - half Demon, half human.

Story
The year is 200X. Jin, Akira and Lena are three child hood friends who like mysterious things. One day in the library, along with the mysterious transfer student Amy, they find the "Akuma Compendium". They chanted an incantation in the book and, to their surprise, devils appeared. Amy then told Jin and Akira that they are the Devil Children that will decide the fate of the world. She hands them their Devil Risers. The group then pass through the "Door of Time" to the land of Valhalla where they fight an evil ruler known as Imperius who plans on conquering all of the world. The Nakama of Jin is Rand, a Sol Lion, and Akira's is Gale, a Hylon.

Gameplay
The gamplay is mostly similar to its predecessor but with newly added elements. Both the Dark and Light versions tell the same story, but told from the different perspectives of the two characters. Certain Demons appear only in the Dark version or in the Light version. Gameplay in the Dark version is substantially different than the Light version; Dark is more complex while Light was simplified.

In America these games suffered due to what fans consider major gameplay flaws. Such as, the Demons don't level, the main Demon companion only levels when other demons are fused/sacrificed to it, and an overly complex menu system.

---

From wikia.com:

Shin Megami Tensei: DemiKids Dark Version (Shin Megami Tensei Debiru Chirudoren Yami no Sho, lit. "Devil Children Dark Book"), is part of a dualogy with DemiKids: Light Version, developed by Multimedia Intelligence Transfer.

The two games together make up a second generation of Devil Children games. Unlike many other multi-version games, there are a large number of changes between Dark Version and Light Version. The DemiKids games were also the first to receive a Shin Megami Tensei banner in North America.

Version Differences
Akira's story line revolves around the mostly Chaos based path found in other Shin Megami Tensei games; he starts in the Forest of Sorrow and arrives at the first town which is reverse of Jin's arrival in Valhalla.

Of the 362 demons you can obtain in both games, Light Version only has a 181 that can be captured / negotiated with via normal game play, of that total 45 of them are unique to Light and require trading between Dark Version to obtain them all. Yet the remaining 45 of them can be obtained in both versions as special fusions. There are also super unique ones to Light Version that pertain to the Sol Leo's infusion which totals 9 unique forms bringing the total to 370 per game.

Characters
* Akira: The Dark Version protagonist. He is a studious boy who discovers he is a Devil Child.
* Gale: The demonic guide belonging to Akira.
* Rand: The demonic guide belonging to Jin.
* Jin: The Light Version protagonist. He is an energetic slacker who discovers he is a Devil Child.
* Shin: A Devil Child from the land of Valhalla.
* Lena: Jin and Akira's friend who enjoys mysterious things. Has a habit of lecturing people.
* Amy: A mysterious girl from Valhalla who gives Jin and Akira Demilocs.
* Lucifer: The lord of darkness himself. His role in the story varies between Light and Dark versions.

Gameplay
DemiKids: Dark Version features the same style of gameplay as earlier Devil Children games. The game world is navigated in a 3rd person perspective; however battle is handled in first person, similar to the earlier Shin Megami Tensei. Unlike most Megami Tensei games, the moon phase mechanic is not used. The game's fusion mechanics are also simplified to make the game more accessible to a younger audience. For example, the resulting demon is always the same type demon as it's predecessor, and level alters the resulting demon, instead of combinations between demon types.

Some demons are only available in the DemiKids: Light Version, and players can use a link cable to trade, fusing demons and battle against each other. In comparison to the Light Version, the Dark Version features more challenging gameplay and far more complex mechanics. There are less items and macca present in Dark Version than in Light Version, making it more of the Hard Mode game.

---

From ign.com:

The game begins looking at a Spiral galaxy.

"Light and dark mark the passage of time. One fades into the other, forming an eternal cycle...A circle of life."

The scenario switches to the Dark Palace, Dem. A short conversation between Lucifer and Forlo begins. Forlo brings bad news, a time rift appeared in Dem, that if left unchecked, all will end. There is a prophecy about this.

"When the fabric of time is torn, tomorrow shall fade."

The prophecy mentions children, saviors of our world. Lucifer then sends Forlo to see if the prophecy is true and if there is hope, to find it! Forlo then leaves.

The game goes back to looking at the Spiral galaxy.

"Dark to Light and back again. Such is life."

Now we see Norn, who is standing in front of a door. She is the Keeper of Fate, Destiny's guide. Here is where you choose your name for the main character. The default name is Akira, but you can enter your own if you so choose. The max number of characters you can use is 8.

After confirming your name, a little bit more dialogue ensues and then you're on your way into the game. But before you enter the door Norn was standing in front of, a few more words appear on-screen.

"Dark and Light...together shape eternity. Within are many paths, one of which is yours."

II. Rem Elementary School [RESL]

Items found: Ointment x 1, Mana Juice x 2, Repel Charm x 2, Attack Gum x 1, Revive Orb x 1, Love Charm x 1, Guard Gum x 1, 500 Macca

October, 200X
Rem Elementary School

The teacher introduces a new student to the class, Amy Kashihara. The teacher tells her she can sit across from "hero".

{Note: From here on when I say "hero", I'm referring to the main character (Akira) since you can name him whatever you want to.}

Before Amy goes to sit down, she stops to talk to "hero" for a brief moment. The teacher then dismisses the class. Talk to the other kids in class if you like but before you leave, check the bookcase in the (NW) corner to receive 1 Ointment. Check the Plant on the (E) side of the classroom to receive 1 Mana Juice. Exit the room for a short conversation between a few of the "hero's" friends.

Here you meet Jin and Lena. Lena has found something unusual, it turns out it is a book with a spell to summon a demon. She found it in the library while looking for another book. Amy leaves the classroom and overhears the conversation about demons. The "hero" introduces Amy to Jin and Lena. Lena asks Amy if she is interested, she can join the group. Amy is unsure at first but then decides she will accept Lena's offer.

*Lena and Amy head to the library, then Jin follows*

You now have control of "hero". You COULD go straight to the library now, but this is an RPG....go explore the school a little bit. Head (W) and enter the far door. The left locker at the top of the room holds 1 Repel Charm. The bookcase right next to the 3 lockers to the (E) holds 1 Attack Gum. Exit that room and head to the next room to the (E). The left cabinet holds 1 Revive Orb. The other holds 1 Mana Juice. The locker on the (W) side of the room has M 500 (what you use for money). Remember this room if you get hurt, the girl here will heal you if you need it. Exit the room.

You cannot go up the stairs for now, since the floors are being mopped, head (E). Skip the first door, you have been there since thats your classroom. There is nothing in the second door but an empty classroom, so the third door is your destination. This is the library. Jin, Lena and Amy are looking at a bookshelf, but they cannot find the book Lena found earlier. Before you talk to your friends, check the leftmost bookshelf for a Love Charm and a Guard Gum. The third bookshelf has a Repel Charm. On the (E) wall, the bottom bookshelf has a Mana Juice.

Talk to Amy and she asks if you ("hero", Lena, and Jin) really want to summon a demon. Talk to Lena, Jin tells you that the Demon Book is gone. Now you have to find it. Talk to the Librarian "Sister". She held onto it for some unusual reason and asks "hero" if he wants it, choose "Take it" and she'll give it to you. Go talk to Jin now. He starts reading the book aloud.

"Nex, a wolf-like demon who guards the gates of hell..."

Jin tells Akira that the book tells how to summon a demon. Amy and Lena talk a little and Amy says that you need special powers to summon a demon. Then "hero" asks what kind of powers are needed to summon demons. Amy says that there is danger in summoning demons, a summoned demon might attack you. Jin and "hero" now chant the words to summon a demon. After the guys are done with the chant, there are several flashes of red and the demon appears. The demon's name is Gargoyle. He is mad that he was summoned ALL the way from Valhalla by KIDS. I'll leave the next little part of the dialogue for you to read, I'd like to keep spoilers to a minimum. After that part, Lena gets face to face with Gargoyle and chews him out. Go Lena! Gargoyle spins Lena around a bit and Amy gives "hero" and Jin a Demiloc and a Vinecom. You have a choice to either use the Demiloc or not to. You have to use it to progress the game so choose "Use Demiloc" or forever be stuck in an endless cycle of "Don't use Demiloc". :p

--When you choose to use the Demiloc: It unleashes a blinding light and summons Gale. Gale says that "hero" is a DemiKid, part demon and part human. Gale is your ally and Guide. Gargoyle is surprised that "hero" is a DemiKid, but says he likes challenges.

This boss is pretty straightforward, like most first boss battles are in any RPG. Just attack him and heal when you feel you need to. His ICE BREATH does the most damage, it did 30 damage to Gale. Since Gale only starts with 72HP, thats a pretty hefty chunk of HP to take out. If you got all the items from the school, you should have plenty of items to heal Gale. Gale has a Heal Spell that heals 40HP, and it only costs 5MP, so you can use it 5 times if need be since he has 28MP to start with. Tough it out and you will be victorious.

Once the battle is over, Gargoyle yaps a little and dies. Amy tells "hero" and Jin that their DemiKid powers have awakened. Lena thinks that Amy knows something and Amy says that both "hero" and Jin have Demi-Powers. More talk, then Amy mentions the time rift, gets scared and runs off. Lena suggests that they follow her. Jin exits and Gale asks you if you want to give him a nickname. For the purposes of this walkthrough, Gale will keep his default name. Gale has a couple of friends that will be allies. Aminoz, Lava Rat and Windling. They are a nice and welcomed addition to the party. Gale tells you if you need to talk to him while walking, press B. He can give you a ride in demon-infested areas if you press R. Exit the library and head back towards the classroom. You see your group looking at a strange sphere. Amy tells you its a time rift and not to touch it. Amy explains what a time rift is, he must be pretty dense....-_-'. Lena tells "hero" that they have to do something and Amy suggests that they DO touch it to see what they're dealing with. They do, and are thrown back in time. Amy rushes off to the roof of the school. You and the group need to meet her there to use the portal to go to Valhalla.

[scene opens in a college library, as a young male librarian (jet-black hair, pencil-thin mustache, green vest, black undershirt, brown pants) is shown sleeping somewhere in the stacks, as he yawns and stretches (while holding a stuffed animal) before waking up]
[cut to the librarian using Windex and wiping the glass on his office door, as "William Kleist" appears on screen]
[cut to a closeup of the librarian's desk, as he reaches in from off camera and meticulously places a bowl of jelly beans down, while "Caleb Grissett" appears on screen]
[cut to the librarian pulling a book from the shelf, as he flips through it before breathing deeply and holding it close to his chest]
[the scene cuts to black, as "The Librarian" appears on screen]
[cut to the librarian walking through the library, as he passes two male students (who are sitting at a table and quietly whispering to one another) and gets an annoyed look on his face]
LIBRARIAN: Shh-hush!
[he stops and stares at them, then speaks in a low gravelly voice]
LIBRARIAN: This is a library ...
[he walks off, and the students continue whispering quietly]
[cut to an over-the-shoulder shot of the librarian walking through the stacks, as he carefully adjusts one slightly ajar book on the shelf, before continuing on his way]
[cut to the librarian sitting at his desk (holding the bowl of jellybeans in one hand), when he looks up and sees one of the students from before walking past, so he lightly shakes the bowl in front of him]
LIBRARIAN: Candy?
[the student (giving him an apprehensive look) cautiously reaches over and takes one, putting it in his mouth as the librarian continues to stare at him ... saying nothing, he walks away]
[cut to the librarian again using window cleaner on his office door, when he suddenly looks up and stares off camera (as if he "senses" something wrong)]
[cut to the same student in the stacks, as he pulls a book off the shelf, then (after looking at it briefly) casually places it face-down on the shelf ... he takes another book off the shelf and inspects it, then again places it out of order at the end of the shelf]
[cut to a shot from the other side of the bookshelf, looking at the student through the open space he created, as he turns and walks away]
[cut to the librarian walking up to the same area moments later, as he picks up the misshelved books and looks around in disgust]
[cut to the librarian again using window cleaner on his office door]
[cut to the librarian walking through the stacks, stopping at each book that is slightly sticking out on the shelf and carefully pushing them back in]
[cut to outside of the library at nighttime, as the same student is running in the rain towards the building]
[cut to inside the library, as the librarian is heading for the doors with his keys to close up for the night, when the student rushes in holding a book]
LIBRARIAN: We're closed ...
STUDENT: I, I just need to return this really quick.
[the librarian (saying nothing) turns around and heads back for his desk]
[cut to the desk, as the student meekly hands him the book, which the librarian snatches out of his hand (slowly realizing that the dustjacket has been ripped and the pages are wet from the rain)]
[the librarian slams the book shut, then vaults over his desk, as the student runs off in fright]
[cut to the student running down the stairs in a panic, tripping on the last step and hitting the floor, before crawling off camera]
[cut to the librarian slowly and calmly making his way down a different stairwell, as he swings open a stapler with one hand (holding it as if it were a switchblade)]
[cut to the student trying to crouch down and hide behind some cabinets, only for the camera to pan back, revealing that the stairwell leads the librarian right behind him]
LIBRARIAN: [quietly] Clever girl ...
[the librarian walks up and swings the stapler at the student's leg]
STUDENT: Ahh!
[he gets up and runs off (holding his injured leg), then cut back to the librarian as he slowly continues the pursuit]
[cut back to the student running through the stacks, as he jumps over a table and continues into another section of the stacks, where (for some reason) he grabs a book off the shelf before continuing his escape]
[cut to the student entering the boiler room, then back to the librarian as he slowly pulls a large red book from the same section of the stacks]
[cut back to the boiler room, as the student tries to exit through a set of doors (only to find them locked)]
[cut to the librarian slowly entering the boiler room, as he closes the door behind him (revealing a "Not an Exit" sign)]
[cut to the student trying to find another exit, when the librarian walks up and swings the red book at his head]
[cut to another angle, as the student ducks and hits the librarian in the face with his own book]
[the "book fight" continues, until the librarian is able to knock the student off his feet, then brings his book down on his head]
[cut to the librarian dragging the student's unconscious body through the library and into his office]
[cut to a shot outside of the office, as the librarian can be seen through the pane of glass, taking another book and violently bringing it down repeatedly on the unseen student ... until streaks off red begin to appear on the glass]
[cut to the librarian calmly using window cleaner to get the blood stains off of his office door]
[cut to the librarian again sleeping in the stacks area, clutching his stuffed animal]

Avalon RP
Jun. 29th, 2012 at 11:58 AM

I can't believe I'm doing this, but the idea wouldn't leave me. I thought of this the day before I left vacation after brainstorming with Records, so I only had time to upload a video now. Maybe it's crazy running 2 RP's at once, but I felt I had to do it. :)

Story: So, Avalon is a small city in England that is home to the supernatural. Mermaids, fairies, dragons, you name it, they've got it. It was designed to be a place where supernatural creatures could live in harmony without the judgement of humans. The city is run by the Council. It has five members, each one a different supernatural species. The city is relatively peaceful, but like any city, it has it's crime problems from time to time. If you have any questions about the city, just ask.
My characters are Katrina and James Clarkson (yes, I know James is the name of one the characters that Benedict Cumberbatch plays. Sue me. I couldn't think of a better name). She's a witch and she's a wizard, although Katrina is special because on her mom's side of the family, there's a little bit of mermaid genetics in there as well. They can do a variety of spells, but each of them have a type of magic that they're comfortable with. Katrina naturally leans towards water-type spells while James's specialty is creating illusions. Katrina is a junior in high school and James is a member of the Council. The Clarksons are a pretty well-to-do family, but Katrina and James are the social outcasts of the family.

Personalities:
Katrina, known as Kitty to those close to her, is a goody-goody two-shoe, to say the least. She's a good girl, almost never gets into trouble, gets good grades in school, practices her magic dutifully. She's a kind person, but is cautious when it comes to trying something new. She's afraid to take risks and just jump into something. She prefers to think things through. She is a very loyal friend though, and if she sees someone she loves upset, she will do her best to cheer them up. Art is a passion of hers. She loves drawing and painting. She loves her uncle to death and is very close to him. She's not very open to romance, mainly because she has no idea what to expect of herself. Her uncle was infamous for having a relationship with another boy when he was in highschool, and since she is so much like her uncle, Katrina wonders if she'll be interested in girls as well as boys. She hates the rest of her family and thinks they're a bunch of pricks, a hatred she shares with her uncle.

James, known as Jim to those he's close to, is a serious guy and it usually takes a special person to make him smile. But once somebody manages to do that, James will be a loyal friend to them. He's a pretty smart guy. He was known for having the best grades in the class when he was in school. He plays the violin and often turns to it when he's upset or needs to think. He loves Katrina with all of his heart and will do his best to make her happy. Due to a spell gone wrong, he now has a disease that puts his body in unbearable pain from time-to-time, rendering him helpless. He always used to deal with it alone, but during the past few years, Katrina has been taking care of him and he found that he actually liked having somebody with him. He's not very open to romance right now since he has his job and niece to focus on. He was very close to Katrina's father. He was the only family member he truly loved. Once he died, he's felt even more at odds with the rest of the family ever since.

Powers:

Both Katrina and James know a variety of spells being a witch and wizard. Since Katrina has a bit of mermaid mixed into her, she feels more comfortable with water-based spells than anything else. She's known for going to the ocean whenever she needs to be alone. James specializes in illusions, which can be helpful or confusing. When facing an enemy, it can disorient them. But he just prefers to use it to get his thoughts laid out visually in front of him so he can think better.

Case Study No. 1317: DesiLamp Soft Light (Wannabe Librarian)

DesiLamp Soft Light
0:27
DesiLamp: Librarians are not guard of silence!!!

Librarians' main job is to coordinate and organize the library, however, sometimes, people are getting louder and in order to keep the silence, librarians start to chase the louder groups and warn them. With DesiLamp, librarians can focus on their main job and DesiLamp can warn the louder people. This is an autocontrol mechanism for keeping the silence in the library.

Features
- It looks like a typcial library lamp from outside
- It detects the voice above a certain level and alerts via changing the color
- It also alerts like siren lamp. Softly turning on and turning off.

Extra Features
- If a group goes above treshold level more than 3 times, the lamp turns off completely and does not allow the group to work in the library.
- It can warn the librarians about the group making noise.
