[scene opens with June staring at her laptop, reading over her manuscript for the new graphic novel entitled "Gone to Hell"]
JUNE: "Too bad she married the wrong brother. All the lights were green. The Mercedes coupe purred in the background of her frightened thoughts. Maybe he's dead. Maybe he's actually dead and I'll be chased down for murder. The police weren't going to be her problem. Big time mobster clobbered in the head by wife with an ashtray in the living room of their mansion."
[she stops and frowns]
JUNE: [to herself] How many times can I rewrite this paragraph? June, honey, you cannot afford to return the financial advance ...
[the ghostly image of a beautiful woman appears next to her]
VIVIAN: Maybe you should start at the beginning, Junie. Now you know murder always has a beginning ...
[the ghost "solidifies" into the form of a living woman and sits down next to a confused June]
VIVIAN: Call me Vivian. I like the name Vivian. You named my husband only once by calling him the arrogant bastard he was and then you step on over his carcass cause I am the only story here, Junie.
[June stares at her in disbelief]
VIVIAN: Stop playing games, girl! I don't have all the time in the world, so start typing what I'm telling ... See, he was good to me when he needed me. After I got him situated within society he thought himself superior. Behind closed doors he became abusive, Junie. Now, I warned him, I said "Don't touch me again, darling! Don't you touch me again!"
[she notices that June is still staring]
VIVIAN: You wanted help, here I am ... so listen up!
[June begins typing]
JUNE: "She moved like sex ... "
VIVIAN: You're planning on writing that?
JUNE: You have a better way of describing you?
VIVIAN: "Her perfume was sandalwood, rubbed between her full breasts. Should anyone care to move closer, they'd find that sandalwood rubbed between her thighs as well" ... Type.
[June quickly puts on her glasses and begins transcribing her words]
VIVIAN: "She didn't mind snow. It was the cold pressing against her back, reminding her of that long silver blade she used between his ribs. His heart was so small, she had to thrust at least three times ... or was it four?"
JUNE: Okay ... okay.
VIVIAN: You should know that his brother's comin' on after me. Mmm, well now, he's a real man ... with real needs. And he knows how to claim what he needs. Do you see what I'm painting here, Junie?
[June takes off her glasses]
JUNE: Not so much ... and it's June, please. Alright, well, help me describe the other brother. What does he look like?
VIVIAN: Six feet one inch of lean muscle. Dark wavy hair, hazel eyes and his mouth ... Mmm, well, his mouth maintains a smile at the corners so that no one ever knows what he's really thinking. He's a hitman, Junie.
JUNE: Ooh, that's good ...
VIVIAN: I aim to please.
JUNE: Ooh, you stay right there, you are good inspiration!
[June continues typing, as Vivian looks her over]
VIVIAN: Why don't you do something with your hair? Your boots look like something ready for cow dung. Why are you so lazy?
JUNE: I don't mean to be rude, but not all women want to be seductresses ...
VIVIAN: [laughs] Shut up. Of course all women want to be seductresses, they just ... they don't wanna be caught workin' at it, is all!
[June looks off into space]
VIVIAN: You write me hot ... You write me hot!

From mac.com:

June listened to the quiet snuff of her low heels down the long stone corridor. She assumed that from this very moment the Librarians would judge her demeanor. The doors stood from ceiling to floor and were shining copper alloy with ornate handles that looked too large for the human hand. She couldn't be positive just how far under the Spire she'd travelled but the elevator ride down had been slow and long.

Announcing herself wasn't necessary. The doors opened and two rows of Librarians waited along the inside corridor. They donned the official navy blue suits but unlike the agents upstairs they wore an additional belt with pockets surround. June noted, not one of the many had psychic talents. In fact everyone seemed extremely ordinary. Their smiles were patient and plastered. June imitated their smile and would not trust the one of them.

"You are a marvel, dear Miss Morris." The tall thin man clapped his fingertips in appreciation, inciting the two rows to follow his lead.

June slightly bowed her head but her quick return to stoicism made it clear her ego did not need recognition. As practiced before Chris Mann she stated, "As your secrecy warrants, I am not familiar with your team. However. Historians who document without the flourish of criticism or cynicism are to be admired. Do I have that honor of standing among such men and women?"

Very briefly, very faintly, the Librarian's thin lipped smile waivered. "I am Librarian Luke."

There was something odd in his stiffness. June decided that Luke would show no emotions other than placid evaluation. Her smile deepened as she decided Luke's ego would push firmly behind his every action and therefore he would have eyes in the back of his head.

First counted there were fifteen Librarians representing a wide age range. Just as widely represented were the cultures. Their whispers were barely audible making their laughter wide mouthed air. June tried to hide her distraction to the walls. White, bare but she knew without a doubt they were illusion. Very clever because how can one invade what one cannot find? The walls weren't amber like the Sentinels' or apparent because of popping lights like the Shadows' but June knew without a doubt that doorways stood there. She lowered her gaze.

"We would very much enjoy hearing from your own lips your most recent adventure." Luke perched his held hands before his narrow chest and lifted his chin from accomplished authority. Or was it blatant pride?

The encouraging applause was politely delivered from the Librarians' fingertips against fingertips. June worked hard against lifting a brow. Had their ears become so sensitive that they at all costs must be protected?

"I am warmed by your interest and know you would be the most observant audience. However." June caught Luke's surprise as it replaced his satisfied smirk. "I am a writer by trade. The Councils have purchased my papers. I don't mean to be rude but they will be available for all of you to read." She turned innocently to Luke. "I assume you all have the same access?"

Librarian Luke cleared his throat. It would be impossible to answer without offending any of his coworkers.

"Of course in my naïve understanding of your Library, perhaps each of you has too many duties already to be so involved with your dear coworkers." June bowed her head slightly to Luke. She'd successfully kept his pride in tact.

A woman with round hips stepped forward. "I am Librarian Clara." Her sweet matured face smiled from under short hair. "Has no one taken the occasion to speak highly of the work we protect here?"

"I kept my appointment with you because I could only imagine how wonderful your careers must be. To protect history is most—"

"Nobel!" The embarrassed young woman quickly covered her lips behind sheltering fingers. As some of her coworkers nodded in agreement she was relieved.

"Nobel. Indeed." June confirmed with as sweet a smile as she could muster.

"I believe a tour is in order." Clara barely looked at Luke. "At least, enough of a tour to entice you June Morris."

With satisfaction June quickly learned that the white walls were holograms and once she followed the Librarians through, rows and rows of shelves ran the sunlit vault. She couldn't find the source of the sunlight.

Books behind glass, wood boxes, odd shapes under purple cloth, long wood tables supporting glass lamps and high back red chairs served as home to the Librarians. Three castle sized fireplaces burned but the vault was not at all smoky. Large computer screens stood posted everywhere. A Librarian stood over a virtual keyboard and worked midair. He looked up at the group and shyly waved.

June admitted freely, "Impressive." Her broad smile was genuine.

Clara's excitement revealed through her breathiness. "June Morris. Do you suppose there might be a detail you left out of your document handed to the Councils?" Her smile was playful. "Perhaps a little detail that you would enter into our logs down here?"

June hadn't expected the request. She thought for a moment then said, "There is something I would like documented to secrecy." She watched heads nod.

"Perhaps." Clara only pretended to be cautious. "You've inside information on Professor Chris Mann. You see he is most intriguing to all of us. His accomplishments are becoming legendary."

June slowed her breathing and her heartbeat. She slowed the air around her head and saw its effect in Clara's large blue eyes. The Librarians did not posses any of the magical anomalies of those working upstairs above them but theirs was the talent for keen observation. And so, because she had made sure no one could read her thoughts, to assuage the moment, June nodded gently that she was open to further questions regarding Clara's interest.

Clara quickly licked her lips. "For instance. Did you witness Chris Mann's talent to shape shift?" To June's frown she was quick. "Wolf Shape Shift, specifically."

June made sure that her frown came across as disbelieving. "I found Chris Mann extremely private. If he has any such ability he did not share it with me."

"And yet, you chose the word ability." Luke's superior smirk returned. "You see talent is developed ability."

June gently shrugged. "That may be so Librarian Luke but I would wager you know far more about Chris Mann than I." To their disappointed frowns she turned to leave the immense view. "I am overwhelmed and in any moment will be reduced to tears. Thank you for your invitation. I take your leave."

* * * * * * * *

Chris Mann was between wonder, satisfaction and pride when listening to June's recount. "Well done my June." He lifted his sparkling glass against hers. "Well done."

June was smiling and as the air around her head was still, she knew Chris couldn't read her thoughts. She watched his eyes gently narrow in the failed attempt. "I've changed, haven't I?"

"I like your poker face." Chris listened to his home as it went through a series of sighs then nodded in response. "Yes she is." He watched his attention blush her cheeks. "Congratulations on you new post, Librarian June." He settled both glasses to the end table. "Have I earned your continued loyalty?"

June pulled her knees up under her long full skirt. "You're afraid I'm going to forget who I work for?" She leaned forward and to her surprise Chris leaned away from her. "Maybe I should ask, have I earned your loyalty?" She felt her calm facade slipping.

"There are truths about me . . . truths that . . . I need you June. I need your friendship. I need your honesty and your undying secrecy."

June calmed her quivering by slowing her breath. "You have it." She followed his lead and moved backward away from him.

"Never allow me to seduce you." He whispered, "Not you."

June watched his eyes turn gray then return to hazel. "I understand." A chill was creeping upward from the base of her spine. "The Librarians are investigating you, Chris." She watched as he settled his gaze against her mouth. "Tell me what part of your truth to hide."

Chris arched his head backward and gently laughed to the ceiling. "I lived up to prophecy." His returned expression was sensual and dark with warning. "I'll give you my truth. And then you tell me what part of it I can hide."

[the player and his party enter the library at Qlon Temple, and find a male librarian (brown hair, mustache, thick glasses, red robe) looking through one of the bookshelves]
HUGO: That's funny. Where could it be?
[he turns and speaks with the player]
HUGO: Say brothers, have you seen the War Scroll anywhere? I'm so embarrassed, being the librarian. If you see it, please let me know. I'll repay you.
[the player eventually recovers the War Scroll and returns to the librarian, as "Delivered War Scroll!" appears on screen]
HUGO: That's it. That's the War Scroll I was looking for. Thank God it's been found. I must repay you with something. Let me see, are you the Liberation Army? I see. OK, I've decided. I'll join up. I'm Hugo the Librarian.
["Hugo joins!" appears on screen]

---

From wikia.com:

A librarian and scholar who worked and studied at Qlon Temple in Lorimar, Hugo was responsible for the upkeep and organization of ancient scrolls and texts held by the temple. He agreed to join the Toran Liberation Army after Tir helped him retrieve the rare War Scroll from deep within a cavern located by the temple itself.

Following the conclusion of the Liberation War, Hugo became a member of the Toran Republic government, being appointed the fledgling nation's first Chief Justice.

From gamefaqs.com:

Beginning with this game, every Suikoden to date has used an information source in-game to help the player with many of the not-so-obvious tricks such as recruitment, True Rune lore, Rare Finds, and recruitment of certain Stars which..you may not otherwise be able to obtain.

To best use and appreciate the Old Books in the original Suikoden game, you need to recruit yourself a decent librarian. In this game, that character would be Hugo (Chisui Star). Hugo can be found in the game facilitating study at the Qlon Temple. But, you can find many of the Old Books before you recruit him, so make sure that when you obtain one you keep it in storage with Rock until you can deliver them to Hugo.

To recruit Hugo, you need to find what's called a "War Scroll". There is only one in the game, and luckily for you, it's right close and handy to where Hugo is. It can be found in the depths of the caves behind Qlon, where you are forced to journey anyways for story purposes. When you find it, simply revisit Hugo and he will decide to join up with your army.

There are a total of eight (8) Old Books in this game. Less you'll find, than the sequels it has thus far spawned. Many of these books are quite easy to find, and hard to miss, but I realize that sometimes inventory room is hard to plan, and sometimes you just may not find the right chest or certain hiding place of the book itself.

Old Book Volume 1
This book is found within a chest at Pannu Yakuta Castle. It is concealed in the one of the chests which is laying in wait on the upper floor of the fortress. Simply open the chest to retrieve this Old Book.

Old Book Volume 2
The reason this edition may be hard to find, is because it is carefully concealed away within the depths of the Qlon Caves, behind Qlon Temple. If you've ventured inside to any great length of time, you probably are aware of the frustration that can sometimes be found within. Especially, when you're playing the game for the first time. Anyways, the book is found within a chest and is found before reaching the Star Dragon Sword.

Old Book Volume 3
This book in particular, may be the one which is easiest to find or miss, depending on how you look at things. It is concealed away from sight behind where Hugo is standing at the Qlon Temple. If you walk up to the bookshelf on the left side of the room, and press the (X) button on your controller to search, you should be able to find it right away.

Old Book Volume 4
Much like Volume #3, this book can be obtained by searching a bookshelf in the proper location. The place you want to look for it, is at the Dragon Knight's Fortress, in Joshua's room, it is in the right hand side bookshelf. Simply walk up to it and press the (X) button to search for it again and it's yours for the taking.

Old Book Volume 5
This book is found a few moments before actually reaching the Dragon Knight's Fortress. If you look carefully for chests within the Dragon Den Cave, you can find this volume waiting for you tucked away within the rocks.

Old Book Volume 6
When you get to the point in the game where you need to infiltrate the Soniere Prison, you can find this particular Book on the 1st Floor of the garrison, corner room, in a typical and familiar chest. You can't really miss this one if you're keeping your eyes open for loot.

Old Book Volume 7
You obtain this Book quite late in the game really, at the Northern Checkpoint leading to Moravia Castle. You should be able to spot it straight-away as it's in a chest as you pass through the checkpoint on foot.

Old Book Volume 8
Found within a chest in Kalekka, this is one of the more often missed Books in the set. Once you enter the ghost town, look for the sign designating what used to be the Bar or Tavern. There is a chest in this building which contains the Old Book, safe away from the Monsters reach.

***
Old Book Volume 1: "The 27 True Runes: Their Creation"
***
"In the beginning...there was "Darkness". "Darkness" lived for eons in a rift in time. Suffering in solitude for so long, "Darkness" finally dropped a "Tear". Two brothers were born of "Tear". "Sword" and "Shield". "Sword" said he could cut anything to pieces. "Shield" swore he could protect anything. And so, the two went to battle. The battle lasted seven days and seven nights. "Sword" cut apart "Shield", and "Shield" broke "Sword" into pieces.

Fragments of "Sword" fell and became the sky. Fragments of "Shield" fell and became the earth. Sparks from the battle became the stars. The 27 jewels that adorned "Sword" and "Shield" became the "27 True Runes," and the World went into motion.

***
Old Book Volume 2: "Ancient Teachings"
***
At certain times, the runes can give men immense powers. The power they provide is magic. Each rune provides four magical powers. But, the great ancient magician Crowley, found a method of surpassing teachings. If two souls are united, two runes are united, and their ultimate power is unleashed, a power greater than the sum of the parts is generated. The union of souls means that two runemasters apply their magic almost at the same time.

The union of runes refers to harmony. In other words, Fire and Earth, and Wind, and Water, Water and Lightning, Lightning and Fire are harmonious. Ultimate power means the release of the maximum runic magic. When three of these powers are combined, the greatest of magical powers is unleashed.

***
Old Book Volume 3: "Strategy of War"
***
War begins with the understanding of the enemy's methonds. A soldier is stronger than an arrow. An arrow is stronger than magic. Magic is stronger than a soldier. As a result, knowing the enemy's methods are a natural advantage. To know an enemy's hand, it is necessary to utilize Ninja Power. An enemy's methods always follows a pattern. Knowing the pattern is a shortcut to victory. When the enemy is without a magician, attack in full force.

Betrayal is most effective when you are few and the enemy is many. When the enemy is reduced to a few, use arrows. When your numbers are many, soldiers and arrows are effective. When you are few in number, magic is effective. The only way to increase your number is to recruit.

***
Old Book Volume 4: "The Knights of the Dragon's Den"
***
Joshua Levenheit, Commander of the Knights of the Dragon's Den, keeps the Dragon Rune. From a very early age, the children of the Dragon Knights are brought up in the Palace of the Dragon Knights. On the other hand, if a dragon dies first, its master loses his rights and privileges, and must leave the Knights of the Dragon's Den.

Border disputes between the Empire and the City-State have been going on for many years. The so-called "Kalekka Incident" took place against this tense, ugly background. Taking advantage of the civil strife within the Empire, the City-State overran the northern part of the Empire all the way to Kalekka, which they occupied. After pacifying the Empire, Barbarosa's forces headed to confront the invaders.

As the City-State's forces began to retreat, the Imperial Army entered Kalekka. What they found was a burnt-out city whose residents wiped out. Leon, let his forces know of the appalling devestation of Kalekka. Despite their exhaustion after the long march north, the forces were infuriated by the news and, with renewed vigor, succedded in forcing back the City-State Army.

Library Revolutions

[scene opens with green-tinted footage from inside Watson Library, as the camera pans over several students using the library, until it stops at one male student with his head down sleeping at his desk]
[cut to the student's laptop, as a tiny window opens on the screen with the words "Wake up, Leo ... "]
[cut back to the student, who wakes up and (after looking around) stares at the screen]
[cut back to the laptop, as the words "Follow the white Jayhawk." appear]
[cut back to the student, as he looks over and sees a young female librarian carrying a book adorned with a large white sticker featuring the University of Kansas mascot (the KU Jayhawk)]
[he immediately gets up and follows her, then cut to the student peeking around the corner of the bookshelf, as he sees the librarian (black hair in a bun, sleeve-less black tank top) sitting down at a nearby desk]
[he approaches her with his arms crossed]
DESKIE: Hello, Leo.
LEO: That was you on the computer ... How did you do that?
DESKIE: I know why you're here, Leo. You're here because you're looking for something. I know, because I was once looking for the same thing. I was looking for an answer.
[she smilees]
DESKIE: Do you want to know what it is?
[he slowly nods]
DESKIE: Unfortunately, I can't tell you. You have to see it for yourself.
[she reaches under the desk and takes out a blue book]
DESKIE: Take the blue book, and go back home, learning nothing.
[she reaches under the desk with her other hand and takes out a red book]
DESKIE: Take the red book, and find out just how deep the Jayhawk hole goes.
[she holds out both books in front of him]
DESKIE: The choice is yours.
[he hesitates, then takes the red book]
DESKIE: Here ...
[she reaches off camera and picks up a pair of sunglasses, placing them on top of the red book]
DESKIE: You might need these.
[she smiles and puts on her own pair of sunglasses, as Leo follows suit]
[cut to a closeup of Leo's face, as he breathes deeply and opens the red book ... a bright light envelops the screen, then cut to Leo standing in a vast empty room by himself]
LEO: Whoa!
[he drops the book and looks down, as the camera pans out to reveal that he is now wearing a black trenchcoat]
LEO: Hey, what's going on?
[he turns around, then suddenly an African American male librarian (also wearing sunglasses and a trenchcoat) appears behind him]
LEO: Who are you?
WATSON: I am Watson. I am here to help.
LEO: Where am I?
WATSON: You're in the library.
[he looks around, confused, at the vast emptiness around him]
LEO: But ... No, that's impossible.
WATSON: Impossible? What do you think the library is? Do you think it's a building of stone? Do you think it's a stack of books?
LEO: Yeah ... Kinda.
WATSON: The library is a collection of information, and information can be words on pages, or numbers in a computer database. Anything.
LEO: Ohhh.
WATSON: A library is a system, but it exists to serve you. It's a system that you control.
LEO: What're you trying to tell me? That I can finally navigate all this information for my research paper?
WATSON: No Leo, what I'm trying to tell you is that when you're ready, you won't have to.
LEO: [pause] Whoa.
[Watson snaps his fingers, and rows of bookshelves suddenly appear on the horizon and fly towards them at incredible speeds]
WATSON: The stacks you've wandered through before at Watson Library are only one part of the system.
LEO: Yeah, I'm pretty familiar with them.
WATSON: But Watson isn't the only library ...
[he snaps his fingers again, and a virtual map of the campus (with the various library buildings highlighted) appears behind Leo]
LEO: More libraries? That just makes it more confusing.
WATSON: That's why she's here ...
[he points off camera, then cut to the female librarian (now wearing a leather midriff-bearing tank top, black leather pants, and knee-high leather boots) as she sits seductively with her legs crossed on top of the reference desk]
LEO: [quietly] Whoa ...
[he pulls down his glasses to get a better look, as they both walk towards her]
DESKIE: I work at the reference desk. I'm there to answer your questions.
LEO: Thanks, but what if I'm stuck in some other part of the library?
WATSON: Then use one of these.
[he reaches behind his back and pulls out a laptop]
LEO: A laptop?
[Leo takes the laptop]
WATSON: Students can check out wireless laptops from the circulation desk. With these, they can access any of the library's databases, as well as the internet, from anywhere in the building.
LEO: That's amazing ...
[he closes the laptop, then looks at Deskie]
LEO: But I still might have some questions.
DESKIE: That's why we have a chat program, that connects KU students from any computer on the internet ... to people like me. We answer your questions in real time.
LEO: That's how you contacted me before.
[she nods]
LEO: But, what if I have questions about KU? Not about the library?
WATSON: Then just call the Oracle ...
[he points off camera, then cut to a young woman (short black hair, sleeve-less black blouse) sitting at a desk with a sign reading "KU Info 864-3506"]
[they walk over to the desk, as she is typing at her computer before looking up]
KU INFO STAFFER: I know you're Leo ... Be right with you.
LEO: You're ... the Oracle?
KU INFO STAFFER: Bingo! Not quite what you were expecting, right?
WATSON: This is KU Info. Some have called it ... the oracle of all knowledge. This information hotline has served the KU community for over thirty years, and now has been integrated into the library. If you ever have a question about KU, you can call eight-six-four three-five-oh-six, or visit them at Anschutz Library. They know much about KU.
LEO: Well ... Oracle, how many--
KU INFO STAFFER: Fifteen thousand nine hundred and one.
[Leo's smug smile fades away]
LEO: Trees are there on campus?
KU INFO STAFFER: Yeah, we get that one a lot.
LEO: Huh ... How can I find all the information I need for my research paper?
KU INFO STAFFER: Well, Watson can show you how to use the library's computer system to find books and journal articles related to your subjects.
[Watson nods, then motions for Leo to follow him]
[cut to Watson pointing to a desk with a laptop computer, as Leo sits down and cracks his knuckles]
LEO: How do I use this thing?
WATSON: The online catalog lists what books and journals the library has.
[cut to several screenshots of the KU Library's website]
WATSON: [from off camera] But you can also access databases filled with online documents in a variety of research fields. These can be accessed outside the library, from any computer on the internet.
[cut back to Leo typing on the keyboard]
LEO: And what about after I finish researching?
WATSON: We have Microsoft Office software on the laptops at library workstations to help you complete the process.
[cut back to the laptop screen, as he opens Word]
WATSON: [from off camera] Type your paper using Microsoft Word.
[he then opens Adobe Photoshop 5.0LE]
WATSON: [from off camera] Or use special computers to edit graphics using Photoshop.
[cut to a closeup of Watson's face]
WATSON: Or design a webpage using Dreamweaver. And when you're done, you can even take your paper to the Writers' Roost in Watson Library or Wescoe Hall, to get writing advice.
LEO: Oh, I see! I think I've got it!
[cut to a closeup of Leo's hands (as sped-up footage is shown of him typing), then cut to the female librarian walking up behind Watson]
DESKIE: What is he doing?
WATSON: He's beginning to believe.
[the camera zooms in on the laptop screen, then cut to a closeup of a piece of paper (entitled "Leo's Research Paper"), as the camera pans out to show Leo back in the library, his head down and sleeping at his desk]
[he wakes up and rubs his eyes, then notices the paper on the desk (and the pair of sunglasses sitting nearby) and smiles]
[he picks up the glasses and the paper, then cut to him (wearing the sunglasses) standing at the top of the stone staircase in front of the library, as he jumps straight up in the air and lands at the bottom of the steps in a dramatic pose]
[he takes a cell phone out of his backpocket, and dials a number]
LEO: [into the phone] It's me. I have something to show you ... To show everyone. A world without borders or boundaries. A world where anything is possible.
[he hangs up, then cut to him walking in front of the library, as he jumps straight up into the air and disappears off camera]
[cut to an aerial shot of the campus, as Leo (striking a Superman pose) "flies" overhead and smiles]

From stephenslighthouse.com:

If you're a Matrix geek, then this promotional video for the University of Kansas' library is for you. The director of this video is Emmy-winner Chris Martin who was a film student at the University of Kansas. He also did another library spoof video called Lord of the Libraries.

Two oldies but goodies. These library videos attract attention, are pretty cool and have a professional look. The real next step is to make the sale after marketing the library – get a card, visit the website, do a search, make an appointment . . . a call to action. I wonder how many libraries train front line staff how to respond effectively and build on the marketing efforts that draw people to the library's goodness?

[scene opens with a young girl (wearing glasses and speaking with an exaggerated "stuffy" accent) speaking directly to the camera]
ANGIE: Today we are going to be learning about ... how to adjust your glasses properly.
[she moves the glasses up on her forehead]
ANGIE: First you have them up here ... then you slowly inch them down.
[she moves them down her face]
ANGIE: You must make sure all of your hair is out of the way ...
[the camera suddenly falls down, but she readjusts it and continues speaking]
ANGIE: Sorry, I knocked the camera over, I'm quite the klutz!
[she laughs]
ANGIE: [whispers] Okay, now ... you slide your glasses down.
[she slides her glasses down to the tip of her nose]
ANGIE: You put your hair up ... in a bun!
[she takes her hair (which she had been wearing down) and ties it into a bun]
ANGIE: [whispers] And ... voila! You're a librarian!
[she adjusts the camera, then changes her accent to a high-pitched whiny voice]
ANGIE: Yeah, that book is ... it's sold out!
[she pretends to chew gum, then adopts a "hillbilly" Southern voice and starts yelling at the camera]
ANGIE: Why yes, I'm a librarian ... whadja think?!
[she starts sneering at the camera and playing with her hair]
ANGIE: I have a bun in my hair ... and hair in mah face! And these li'l glasses heah!
[she adjusts her glasses, then gives a disturbing smile]
ANGIE: I'm a li-barian! Have a nice day!
[the scene fades to black]

[he turns to Chica, and she makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: Okay ... Oh, I better get my library card ready so we can check out a book!
[he takes a library card out of his pocket, then turns and addresses someone off camera]
SEAN: Oh, hello librarian!
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: Hi, we were looking for a book on, uh ...
[he turns to Chica]
SEAN: What was it you wanted, Chica?
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: Oh yeah, like uh ... a fish or an ocean creature.
[Chica the Chicken nods and makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: It's red?
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: Um, yeah. What ... what was it again?
[an unseen female librarian reaches in and hands him a red book]
SEAN: Oh! Let's see ... Thank you!
[he opens the book and thumbs through the pages]
SEAN: Uh, oh, this is a book on starfish.
[Chica the Chicken shakes her head and makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: No, we were looking for a book on ... it's got a hard shell and claws!
[Chica the Chicken nods and makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: Yeah ...
[the librarian reaches in and hands him a book with a cartoon lobster on the cover]
SEAN: Oh!
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: A lobster!
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: That's right! Okay, so we don't need this one ...
[he hands the red book back to the librarian]
SEAN: But thank you so much for helping us find the book!
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: Oh, librarians help us to find books that we want!
[Chica the Chicken nods and makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: That's really cool!
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: Alright, well let's take a look and learn more about lobsters!
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise, as he opens the book and thumbs through the pages]
SEAN: Look at the great pictures, just like this picture of the lobster!
[he points to the cartoon lobster on the cover, as Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: Neat!
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: Oh, they're called crustaceans!
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: That's right!
[the unseen librarian reaches her hand into the scene and wags a finger]
LIBRARIAN: [from off camera] Shhh ...
[Chica the Chicken makes a (quiet) squeaking noise]
SEAN: Oh ... Shhh.
[he puts a finger to his lips and shushes himself]
SEAN: Right, there are other people trying to learn.
[Chica the Chicken nods and makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: So we have to be quiet.
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: We can help the librarians by ...
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise, as he puts a finger to his lips]
SEAN: Shhh, being quiet.
[Chica the Chicken nods and makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: Okay ...
[he goes back to reading the book]
SEAN: Well, uh ... Look at this, Chica.
[he points at one of the pages]
SEAN: Most lobsters have eight legs and two claws.
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: Can you imagine having eight legs?!
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise, as Sean gets louder]
SEAN: Wow!
[the unseen librarian reaches in and places a "Quiet Please" sign on the table in front of them]
LIBRARIAN: [from off camera] Quiet, please ...
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: Oh, right ... I forgot.
[Chica the Chicken makes a (quiet) squeaking noise]
SEAN: We're supposed to be quiet, please.
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: Okay, shhh.
[he puts a finger to his lips]
SEAN: Alright ... Yeah, there are other people trying to read in the library.
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise, as he goes back to reading the book]
SEAN: Oh, Chica! Look at this last one ...
[he points at one of the pages]
SEAN: Yeah, you--
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: Yeah. Yeah, y'see that? They swim backwards by curling their tail.
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: It helps them to swim quickly.
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: Nice ... Alright, shh! We'll be quiet.
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise, as he closes the book]
SEAN: Alright, well, let's check this book out.
[Chica the Chicken nods and makes a squeaking noise, while Sean turns to the librarian off camera]
SEAN: Alright, we'd like to check this book out! Here's my card!
[he reaches off camera and hands the card to the librarian]
SEAN: Great!
[the librarian reaches in and hands him a CD with a piece of pink paper]
SEAN: Oh!
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: Oh, and a book on DV ... or CD, and a website!
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: Great! Thank you, librarian!
[Chica the Chicken makes a squeaking noise]
SEAN: Oh boy, librarians are really helpful!
[Chica the Chicken nods and makes a squeaking noise]
